As we reported earlier, The Big Bang Theory got higher ratings than How I Met Your Mother last night, now we've got the exact numbers for you.
The Big Bang Theory – Viewers: 9.36 million (#2), A18-49: 3.6/10 (#2)
How I Met Your Mother – Viewers: 9.14 million (#2), A18-49: 3.8/10 (#2)
How I Met Your Mother was more popular with the 18-49 demographic, but they had the same share so this can be explained by the fact there are more 18-49'ers tuning in at 8:30 than 8 o'clock. The Big Bang Theory did get 220,000 more viewers than How I Met Your Mother, at a time when there are fewer viewers about, that is good news.
This is a very big achievement for The Big Bang Theory, beating a show that follows it in a better slot isn't easy. Ratings for The Big Bang Theory did fall when it swapped slots with HIMYM, but now the tables have turned and TBBT is showing it's true strength by outshining the show without the advantage of the better slot.
The ratings for last night's episode are out, and the show beat How I Met Your Mother! The Big Bang Theory got a 5.8/9 rating, while How I Met Your Mother - which follows The Big Bang Theory - scored just 5.5/9. Both shows placed 2nd in their slot, behind ABC behemoth Dancing With The Stars.
