Guest Star: Laurie Metcalf
Laurie Metcalf is an American actress most widely known for her role as Jackie Harris on the long-running ABC sitcom Roseanne and her role on HBO's Getting On. Metcalf's other TV credits include recurring roles on Desperate Housewives and as Sheldon's mother, Mary Cooper, on The Big Bang Theory.
On the big screen, Metcalf is best known as the voice of Mrs. Davis in the Toy Story film series and as Debbie Salt in Scream 2. Her other film credits include Making Mr. Right, JFK and Mistress.
Metcalf is a three-time Emmy award winner and has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards. In 2017, she won a Tony award for her performance in A Doll's House, Part 2.
Laurie Metcalf's real-life daughter, Zoe Perry, will play the role of Mary Cooper in the upcoming The Big Bang Theory spin-off series, Young Sheldon.
Trivia: On Roseanne, Laurie Metcalf worked with Johnny Galecki, who starred as David Healy for seven seasons, and Sara Gilbert, who went on to play Leslie Winkle on The Big Bang Theory. Chuck Lorre, co-creator of The Big Bang Theory, was a writer for a time on Roseanne.
