Stan Lee was an American comic-book writer, publisher and film producer who was deeply involved with Marvel Comics. Working as its editor-in-chief, publisher and finally chairman, Lee transformed the small publishing house into a multimedia giant with a renowned catalog of characters.

With various collaborators, Lee co-created fictional heroes including Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther and the X-Men. Following his retirement from Marvel, Lee remained perhaps the industry's most recognisable figure, making frequent cameo appearances in films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Stan Lee died November 12, 2018 at the age of 95.
