The Big Bang Theory Episode Tournament: Result

The final round of our tournament to find the fans' favorite episode of The Big Bang Theory has now closed. The winning episode was "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency", in which Sheldon goes to the aid of an injured Penny as the other guys spend a night in the desert.

"The Adhesive Duck Deficiency" narrowly beat out "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis" in the final round of the tournament with 50.3% of the vote and a lead of just seven votes.

In "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency", Leonard, Howard and Raj head out to the desert to watch a meteor shower, but their evening takes a turn when they enjoy cookies from a pair of hippies. Meanwhile, Sheldon's plan to spend the evening finishing a scientific paper go off course when Penny is injured in the shower. Sheldon comes to the aid of the damsel in distress, getting her dressed, taking her to the emergency room and putting her to bed.

Our Big Bang Theory: Seasons 1-5 episode tournament has now closed and the result has been declared. Thank you to everybody who voted in the tournament.

Episode 3.08 "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency" won the tournament. In the episode, Leonard, Raj and Howard spend the night camping in the desert to watch a meteor shower. Meanwhile, Penny slips in the shower and is reliant on Sheldon to get her to the hospital.

"The Adhesive Duck Deficiency" received 54.01% of the vote in the final round to beat "The Staircase Implementation". The winning episode received 1,399 votes throughout the tournament and had an overall vote share of 13.5%.

The third season of The Big Bang Theory bowed out strongly last night. The show was watched by 14.78 million people and came first in all key metrics. The show scored a 8.9/14 rating in households and a 5.2/13 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic.

The show continued to build on its lead-in Two and a Half Men in the adults 18-49 demographic. The Big Bang Theory will no longer be following Men when it moves to its new Thursday 8/7c slot later this year.

The Big Bang Theory finished first in key metrics and built on the audience of lead-in Two and a Half Men last night.

The Big Bang Theory was watched by 14.75m people and finished first in total viewers. The show finished first with a 8.7/14 rating in households. Big Bang was the most watched show of the night with the adults 18-49 demographic, in which it scored a 5.4/14 rating.

Last night's episode finished first in key demographics, delivering the night's best showings with adults 18-49 and other key demos.

The Big Bang Theory was watched by 13.58m people, up by 1.95m from last week's episode. The show came second in households and total viewers, settling behind ABC behemoth Dancing with the Stars.

The Big Bang Theory delivered a 5.2/13 rating with adults 18-49, up 13% from last week. The show also recorded a 6.2/14 adults 25-54, an improvement of 15% over last week. Big Bang also set a 3.6/10 rating in adults 18-34, up 6% from last week.

The Big Bang Theory also managed to build on lead-in Two and a Half Men in the key demographics. Men scored a 4.6/12 rating with adults 18-49, against Big Bang's 5.2/13. Bang also posted higher numbers with adults 18-34 and 25-54.

The Big Bang Theory finished a strong second in the 9pm slot last night. Filling in for Two and a Half Men, the show came second behind ABC's Dancing with the Stars. The original episode was watched by 11.54 million people, managing to come joint first in adults 18-49 with a 4.5/12 rating.

A rerun of Big Bang finished third in the regular 9:30 slot, clocking 10.30 million viewers. The repeat finished in first place with adults 18-49, setting a 3.6/10 rating in the demo.

CBS Announces Season Finale

CBS has announced the details of the final episode of the third season, "The Lunar Excitation", which will air May 24th. Mayim Bialik ("Blossom") guest stars and Sara Gilbert returns as Leslie Winkle.

"The Lunar Excitation" - While Penny worries that dating Leonard has ruined her for normal guys, Wolowitz and Koothrappali search for Sheldon's perfect match online, on the third season finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Monday, May 24 (9:31-10:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

'Big Bang' at 9:00 on May 3

CBS is to air a new episode of The Big Bang Theory at 9:00/8c on Monday, May 3rd, followed by a rerun of the show in its regular slot. Big Bang is displacing Two and a Half Men from its regular 9/8c slot.

Charlie Sheen's personal troubles led to Men being two episodes short this year. Two and a Half Men remains America's most popular sitcom, although Big Bang has been giving it a run for its money with adults 18-49.

The original episode of The Big Bang Theory airing May 3rd is "The Spaghetti Catalyst".
