William Shatner to guest star on The Big Bang Theory

Star Trek legend William Shatner will guest star in an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory's final season, CBS revealed today.

A video on the show's official Facebook page teased guest appearances from William Shatner, True Blood actor Joe Manganiello, director Kevin Smith, basketball great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wil Wheaton in the "ultimate Dungeons and Dragons battle".

Kevin Smith, best known for directing the film series Clerks, previously featured in a Season 8 episode of the show, "The Fortification Implementation", when he called into Wil Wheaton's podcast. Star Trek: The Next Generation star Wil Wheaton has appeared in sixteen episodes of the show since the third season.

William Shatner is not the first Star Trek actor to have featured on the show. Leonard Nimoy gave his voice to a Spock action figure in "The Transporter Malfunction", while George Takei appeared as himself in the Season 4 episode "The Hot Troll Deviation".

No air date was announced for the Dungeons and Dragons-themed episode. The final season of The Big Bang Theory continues Thursday, January 31 on CBS.

The Big Bang Theory Season 10 Spoilers

With the first taping for The Big Bang Theory's tenth season less than a week away, spoilers of what we can expect from the show's upcoming season have been leaking out.

Promoting its shows at the summer Television Critics Association press tour, CBS today released a synopsis for The Big Bang Theory's tenth season premiere.

In the season premiere, after Sheldon's mother and Leonard's father share an evening together, everyone deals with an awkward morning the following day. Also, Penny's family arrives for the ceremony, including her anxiety-ridden mother, Susan (guest star Katey Sagal), and her drug dealing brother, Randall (guest star Jack McBrayer).

Meanwhile, EW.com has exclusively reported that Breaking Bad actor Dean Norris will have a multi-episode arc in the tenth season. The actor will be playing an Air Force representative who contacts the guys about their quantum gyroscope, a storyline set up in the ninth season. The actor will be appearing in the first three episodes of the new season.

Also, responding to questions about The Big Bang Theory's future past this tenth season - the last season contracted at the moment - CBS's Glenn Geller told reporters he was "very confident that everyone involved wants more Big Bang past year 10".

The Big Bang Theory returns with its tenth season premiere on Monday, September 19 at 8/7c on CBS. As it has for the past couple of years, The Big Bang Theory starts the season on Monday nights to make room for Thursday Night Football. The show will return to its regular Thursday at 8/7c time period on October 27.

Katey Sagal, Jack McBrayer to guest star

Katey Sagal and Jack McBrayer will be guest starring in the tenth season premiere of The Big Bang Theory, the show's writers revealed Friday during their Comic-Con panel. The pair will be playing Penny's mother and brother who are in town to attend her do-over wedding ceremony with Leonard.

Katey Sagal, known for her roles on Married with Children and Sons of Anarchy, previously played Kaley Cuoco's on-screen mother in the 2002-2005 sitcom 8 Simple Rules, which also starred John Ritter until his untimely death in 2003. On The Big Bang Theory, Katey Sagal will be playing Susan, Penny's overstressed and neurotic mother whose main source of frustration is her son.

Jack McBrayer, best known for his role as the super friendly and optimistic Kenneth Purcell on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock, will be playing the role of Randall, Penny's previously mentioned brother who has spent time in and out of prison on drug charges.

Keith Carradine will be reprising his role as Penny's father, Wyatt, who we first met in the fourth season of the show and more recently appeared in a ninth season episode.

The Big Bang Theory's tenth season will premiere Monday, September 19 on CBS.

SPOILERS: Sheldon and Amy's relationship takes a step forward

Sheldon and Amy will take their relationship to the next level in a December episode, showrunner Steve Molaro confirmed after an episode taping on Tuesday. The pair, whose relationship has been on hold so far this season, will reportedly get intimate in the December 17 episode.

"After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship, and we're so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes", showrunner Steve Molaro said in a statement.

Bob Newhart will reprise his role as Professor Proton/Arthur Jeffries in the episode, appearing to Sheldon as a Jedi just as he did in "The Proton Transmogrification". The Star Wars bent to the episode will come just hours before the new film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, opens in cinemas.

Michael Rapaport to guest star on The Big Bang Theory

Michael Rapaport (Prison Break, Friends) will guest star on an episode of The Big Bang Theory airing later this month, Yahoo! TV has exclusively reported.

The actor will appear in the October 26 episode, "The Helium Insufficiency", which sees Sheldon and Leonard forced to turn to a shady chemical dealer (Rapaport) to secure quantities of the rare gas helium on the black market because of a worldwide shortage.

With a little over three weeks to go until The Big Bang Theory's ninth season premiere, spoilers of what to expect in the new season are starting to flow out. Here's a round-up of what's been reported over the past few days:

TVLine revealed the conclusion to Leonard and Penny's marital cliffhanger from the eighth season finale. When we last saw them, Leonard and Penny were driving to Vegas to get married, but their wedding plans were thrown in doubt when Leonard admitted kissing another woman during his time at sea.

The Force Awakens, the upcoming Star Wars movie, will be discussed on the show this season, executive producer Steve Molaro confirmed to TVLine. With the guys being such huge fans of the franchise, Molaro said it would be weird for them to not mention the film. They're not sure yet on how the film will play into a story line, but it won't be ignored.

The Big Bang Theory guys will be taking a physics-themed road trip, according to EW.com's Spoiler Room. The guys will travel to Mexico in the van of the late theoretical physicist Richard Feynman.

EW.com's Spoiler Room also recently reported that Laurie Metcalf and Keith Carradine will be reprising their role as Sheldon's mother and Penny's father, respectively, in upcoming episodes. Laurie Metcalf will guest star as Mary Cooper in the season premiere, while Keith Carradine will make his second appearance as Wyatt in the third episode of the season.

Finally, TVLine reported earlier this month that Leonard's "other woman" had been cast. Melissa Tang, who recent had a recurring role on Chuck Lorre's Mom, will play Mandy, the woman Leonard admitted kissing during his North Sea expedition two years ago.

Melissa Tang has landed a guest spot as Leonard's "other" woman on The Big Bang Theory, according to TVLine.com. The actress, who had a recurring role on the Chuck Lorre series Mom, will play Mandy, the woman Leonard admitted kissing during his North Sea Expedition two years ago.

Leonard revealed his indiscretion to Penny during the Season 8 finale, "The Commitment Determination", as he and Penny headed to Vegas to get married.

TVLine reports that the actress will appear in the second episode of the season, which is set to be taped next week. The Big Bang Theory's season premiere, which is set to air Monday, September 21, was recorded earlier this week.

Nathan Fillion to guest star on The Big Bang Theory

Nathan Fillion will make a cameo appearance in an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory, according to an EW.com exclusive report. The Castle and Firefly actor will feature in the February 19 episode of the show as himself. In the episode, Raj and Leonard will see him a restaurant and will debate whether or not it's really him and if they should approach him for a picture.

Firefly, the space western TV series in which Fillion starred, has frequently been mentioned on The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon originally stipulated in the roommate agreement that Friday nights should be reserved for watching Firefly, and he ranks FOX owner Rupert Murdoch alongside Darth Vader as a heinous traitor for the network's cancelling of Firefly. Fillion's Firefly co-star Summer Glau appeared as herself in "The Terminator Decoupling".

Get ready to meet Howard's second cousin Jeanie

Howard's second cousin Jeanie, the girl with whom he lost his virginity, will be making an appearance in a November episode of The Big Bang Theory, according to a TVLine.com exclusive report. Tensions will rise further between Howard and Stuart, who is currently living with Howard's mother, when Stuart arrives at a party with the aforementioned Jeanie.

Kara Luiz, who has recently guest starred in Amazon Instant Video's Betas, will be playing the role of cousin Jeanie.

Howard accidentally admitted to losing his virginity to his second cousin in "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency" when Leonard, Raj and Howard camped out under the stars and ate cookies made by VW Microbus-driving teachers wearing tie-dyed Grateful Dead t-shirts. On his with date with his now-wife Bernadette in "The Creepy Candy Coating Corollary", Howard admitted to losing his virginity in a Toyota Corolla.

Kate Micucci set for 'Big Bang Theory' return

Kate Micucci, who had a recurring role as Lucy - Raj's love interest - during The Big Bang Theory's sixth season, is set to reprise her role during the show's upcoming seventh season, according to an exclusive in The Hollywood Reporter.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals Micucci will appear in the eighth episode of the new season. Lucy will bump into Penny in the episode, but it's not known whether Raj and Lucy will meet each other.
