BBT is already going to be on hiatus?

Sheldon would be very upset by the mistaking of 2009 as the end of the decade, if he were not fictional. But considering how angry some people I know got at Jan 1, 2000 being considered the first day of the decade, century, and millenium, I am sure Sheldon is definitely based on someone or a mix of people.

I hope there will be more episodes in the next decade!

The year 2009 is considered the end of this decade and 2010 starts the new decade. There will still be new episodes in 2010. The show got renewed for two seasons. The show is here to stay for awhile!

If there are no new episodes in 2010, I might as well let a black hole of boredom suck me in...

We're working on this understanding of decade: a period of ten years starting with 0 and ending in 9. There will be plenty of new episodes next year. :)

"and the decade" so there will be no new eps in 2010?!
