HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and THE BIG BANG THEORY - each posted significant week-to-week gains in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Monday, Oct. 22.

THE BIG BANG THEORY was second in households (5.6/08), viewers (8.72m), adults 25-54 (4.2/09) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09). THE BIG BANG THEORY built on its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER lead-in by +2% in households, +5% in adults 25-54, +3% in adults 18-49 and added +120,000 viewers.

Compared to last week, THE BIG BANG THEORY was up +8% in households (from 5.2/08), +14% in adults 25-54 (from 3.7/09), +13% in adults 18-49 (from 3.1/08) and added +780,000 viewers (from 7.94m, +10%).

The Big Bang Theory receives two season renewal March 20, 2017

CBS and Warner Bros. Television have agreed a two-season renewal deal for The Big Bang Theory, taking the show through to its twelfth season in 2018/19.
