2015 Emmy Nominations

Mayim Bialik today received her fourth consecutive Emmy nomination for her role as Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang Theory received a total of six nominations today with notable absences in the Comedy Series and Lead Comedy Actor categories.

Following six consecutive nominations for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Jim Parsons did not receive a nomination this year. Jim Parsons has won the award four times over the past five years. The Big Bang Theory, which had been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series in each of the past four years, was also off the list this year.

Nominated along side Mayim Bialik in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category were Niecy Nash (Getting On), Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Allison Janney (Mom), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Gaby Hoffman (Transparent), Jane Krakowski (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Anna Chlumsky (Veep). 

Christine Baranski was nominated in the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy category for her appearance as Dr. Beverly Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory. This is her third nomination in the category for her appearances as Leonard's mother. The Good Wife actress was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category for her role on the CBS legal drama. Christine Baranski won an Emmy for her role on the Chuck Lorre sitcom Cybill back in 1995.

The Big Bang Theory's crew received nominations in the "Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For a Series", "Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Program", "Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing For A Comedy Series", and "Outstanding Cinematography For A Multi-Camera Series" categories.

The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Andy Samberg and will air live on FOX on Sunday, September 20 at 8/7c.

Jim Parsons wins Emmy award September 22, 2013

Jim Parsons won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy award at the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Hollywood today. This was the actor's fifth consecutive nomination for the award and third win. Other actors to have won the award three times include Tony Shalhoub, Don Adams and John Lithgow.
