Kate Micucci set for 'Big Bang Theory' return September 24, 2013
Kate Micucci, who had a recurring role as Lucy - Raj's love interest - during The Big Bang Theory's sixth season, is set to reprise her role during the show's upcoming seventh season, according to an exclusive in The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals Micucci will appear in the eighth episode of the new season. Lucy will bump into Penny in the episode, but it's not known whether Raj and Lucy will meet each other.
Jim Parsons wins Emmy award September 22, 2013
Jim Parsons won the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy award at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards today. This was the actor's fifth consecutive nomination for the award and third win, having previously taken the award home in 2010 and 2011. Parsons joins Dick Van Dyke, Tony Shalhoub, Don Adams and John Lithgow as actors who have won this award three times.
The other contenders for the award this year were 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin, Arrested Development's Jason Batemean, Louie's Louis C.K., House of Lies' Don Cheadle and Episodes' Matt LeBlanc.
Parsons' Emmy nomination this year was for the episode "The Habitation Configuration". In the episode, Sheldon is caught in the middle of an argument between his girlfriend Amy and Wil Wheaton. After Penny introduces Sheldon to the Long Island Iced Tea, a drunk Sheldon confronts Wil Wheaton at his home. Parsons won the Emmy in 2010 for the third season episode "The Pants Alternative", another episode in which Sheldon was drunk.

CBS has issued the press release for the third episode of The Big Bang Theory's upcoming seventh season, which will air Thursday, October 3.

Bob Newhart wins his first Emmy for 'TBBT' September 16, 2013
Legendary comedic actor Bob Newhart won his first Emmy last night for his guest appearance on The Big Bang Theory as Professor Proton. Newhart received his award at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, which mostly focus on the technical areas of television production but also include the guest actor categories.
Bob Newhart's career spans more than five decades and includes seven Emmy nominations. His first Emmy nomination came in 1962 for The Bob Newhart Show, which ran for six seasons. In the 1980s, he received three consecutive Emmy nominations for Newhart. He received a nomination for Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his guest appearances on ER in 2003. Newhart was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Mini-Series or Movie in 2009 for The Librarian III.
Bob Newhart will be returning to The Big Bang Theory again this season. When the actor agreed to guest star on the show, it was on the understanding he would appear more than once. His next episode will be shot in October.
The crew of The Big Bang Theory also took home an award last night. They won the Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Series award for the episode The Higgs Boson Observation.
Christine Baranski set to return as Leonard's mom September 13, 2013
Christine Baranski (The Good Wife, Cybill) is set to reprise her role as Leonard's mom on The Big Bang Theory this season, TVLine reports in an exclusive story.
According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Baranski will be appearing in the October 10 episode of The Big Bang Theory. This marks her first appearance since the show's fifth season premiere. Her character will again be appearing by Skype. Baranski's commitments on The Good Wife, which is filmed in New York City, make it difficult for her to appear in-person.

The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Sixth Season DVD was released today in the United States and Canada. The Season 6: Blu-ray Combo Pack, which also includes the season on DVD and UltraViolet downloads, is also out now. The box-sets include all twenty-four episodes of the show's latest and highest-rated season yet, along with new behind-the-scenes bonus features. Among the special features are two out-of-this-world featurettes which include contributions from real-life astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Mike Massimino.

Big Bang Theory Episode Tournament: Result September 10, 2013
Our Big Bang Theory Episode Tournament has now closed and a winner has been declared. The second season Christmas episode, "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis", won the tournament. Thank you to everybody who voted in the tournament.
"The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis" has proved to be a favorite of many fans. This is the fifth tournament the episode has won, more than any other episode. In the episode, Penny starts dating a handsome colleague of Leonard's, while Raj and Howard help Sheldon find a suitable Chrsitmas gift for Penny. In a memorable scene from the episode, Sheldon hugs Penny after she gives him a napkin signed by Leonard Nimoy.
"The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis" received 52% of the vote in the final round to narrowly beat "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency". The winning episode received a total of 1,165 votes throughout the tournament and had an overall vote share of 11.5%.

The two episodes fighting it out in the final round are The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis and The Adhesive Duck Deficiency. Both episodes have proved popular in the past, with Bath Item having won three previous tournaments and Adhesive Duck the winner of two. Knocked out in the last round were The Panty Pinata Polarization and The 43 Peculiarity.
