'Big Bang' gets three Teen Choice nominations

The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco have been nominated for the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. The awards show honors achievements in film, television, music, sports and fashion as voted for by young people aged 13-19.

The Big Bang Theory was nominated in the Choice TV Show: Comedy category with Glee, iCarly, Modern Family and Wizards of Waverly Place. Glee is the leading contender with 9 nominations overall.

Jim Parsons was nominated in the Choice TV Actor: Comedy category and faces competition from Ty Burrell (Modern Family), Steve Carell (The Office), John Krasinski (The Office) and Cory Monteith (Glee).

Kaley Cuoco was nominated in the Choice TV Actress: Comedy category and goes up against Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly), Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place) and Demi Lovato (Sonny with a Chance).

From today, fans aged 13-19 can vote once each day per category for their favorite TEEN CHOICE 2011 nominees at www.teenchoiceawards.com. The awards ceremony takes place Sunday, August 7 and will be broadcast live on the Fox network.

Episode Tournament: Nominations Round

We are running an Episode Tournament to find the fans' favorite episode of The Big Bang Theory. The nominations round is now open and allows you to nominate up to 8 episodes to go through to the knock-out rounds.

The tournament will consist of a nominations round, now open, and three knock-out rounds. The eight most popular episodes from the nominations round will go head-to-head in the first round, after which four episodes will be eliminated. The second round sees two pairs of episodes go head-to-head, before the third and final round sees the two most popular episodes compete to become the winner.

The Big Bang Theory returns to Comic Con
  The cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory will be returning to Comic-Con International this year. The Big Bang Theory has been present at every Comic-Con since the show's premiere and is always well received. Warner Bros. announced The Big Bang Theory will have a panel on Friday, July 22nd in Ballroom 20. Stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch will join creators/executive producers Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, and executive producer Steven Molaro. Comic-Con International takes place in San Diego and is a four-day event that showcases comics, science fiction and film and television shows. This year's Comic-Con International takes place from July 21-24 at the San Diego Convention Center. For more information visit the Comic-Con website.

We have been running an episode tournament to find the fans' favorite episode from the latest season of The Big Bang Theory. The tournament has now closed and we can declare the result.

With 58.5% of the vote, the season finale The Roommate Transmogrification beat the season opener The Robotic Manipulation to win the tournament.

Jim Parsons wins Critics' Choice Award

Jim Parsons won the Best Actor in a Comedy award at the inaugural Critics' Choice Awards yesterday. Parsons beat Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Steve Carell (The Office), Louis C.K. (Louie), Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Joel McHale (Community) to win the award.

The Big Bang Theory was nominated in the Best Comedy category but lost out to ABC's Modern Family.

Critics nominate 'Big Bang' for two awards

The Big Bang Theory was nominated for two Critics' Choice Television Awards by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association. The show received a nomination in the Best Comedy Series category, while star Jim Parsons got a nod in the Best Actor in a Comedy Series category.

The Big Bang Theory is up against Archer, Community, Glee, Louie, The Middle, Modern Family, The Office, Parks and Recreation and 30 RockModern Family is the lead contender with six nominations.

On the acting side, Jim Parsons faces competition from Alec Baldwin (30 Rock)
Steve Carell (The Office), Louis C.K. (Louie), Charlie Day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Joel McHale (Community).

The inaugural Critics' Choice Awards will be presented June 20 and will be streamed live on VH1.com. Highlights will air June 22 on the Reelz Channel. The event is a spin-off from the Critics' Choice Movie Awards and promises to be a more streamlined version of the Emmys.
