Episode 4.16 Ratings

Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory, 4.16 "The Cohabitation Formulation", was down about 5% on last week's episode in the key ratings.

The Big Bang Theory was watched by 12.48 million people and placed second in all metrics. The show scored a 7.5/12 rating in households and a 3.7/11 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic.

The season finale of Sh*t My Dad Says was also down on last week. From next week Rules of Engagement will be following The Big Bang Theory.

"The Prestidigitation Approximation" - Leonard must choose between new girlfriend Priya and his friendship with Penny. Meanwhile, Howard drives Sheldon crazy with a magic trick, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, March 10 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The Big Bang Theory was watched by 12.79m people and placed second behind Fox's American Idol. The show scored a 3.9/11 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, down around 9% from last week. The show set an 8.8/13 rating in households.

The ratings for last night's episode, the second original episode to face American Idol, are out. The show appeared unscathed by the fierce competition from the popular reality contest.

The Big Bang Theory finished second, behind American Idol, with an 8.0/13 rating in households. The show was watched by 13.81m people, up by around 190,000 people from the last original episode. The show scored a 4.3/12 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, up on the last new episode. The ratings are inline with the show's average this season, suggesting American Idol isn't taking away much of the show's audience.

The ratings for last night's episode, the first to face American Idol, are out. The show performed strongly even with the heated competition from the popular reality contest.

The Big Bang Theory was watched by a typical 13.58m people, down only by 400,000 from the last original episode. The show scored an 8.1/13 rating in households and a 4.2/12 in the key adults 18-49 demographic. The show finished second in all key metrics.

Compared with the last original episode of The Big Bang Theory, "The Bus Pants Utilization" which aired January 6th, the show retained 97% of its viewers and 95% of its adult 18-49 audience. Last night's episode clocked in around 3% above the season average for original episodes.

Jim Parsons wins Golden Globe

Jim Parsons won the Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Comedy or Musical at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards yesterday. The award was presented by fellow Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco. Parsons beat out competition from Steve Carell (The Office), Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Matthew Morrison (Glee) and Thomas Jane (Hung) to win the award.

This is the actor's first Golden Globe award. Parsons won an Emmy for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper at last year's Emmy Awards. The Big Bang Theory, which was nominated in the Best Television Series – Comedy Or Musical category, lost out to Fox's Glee.

'Big Bang' renewed for 3 seasons

The Big Bang Theory has been renewed for an additional three seasons, keeping the show on air through its seventh season in 2013/14.
