CBS, Warner Bros. close to 'Big' renewal January 11, 2011
CBS and Warner Bros. TV are reportedly close to sealing a three season renewal deal for The Big Bang Theory. According to Variety, CBS and Warner Bros. have been quietly negotiating for some time and have reached agreement on the major points. The deal would keep the show on CBS through 2014 and would call for 22 episodes per season.
The deal would reportedly net the show a license fee of around $4 million per episode, a large increase from the show's current fee of little over $1m. The renewal would secure the show through its seventh season. Reps from CBS & Warner Bros. TV declined to comment to Variety.

The ratings for the first Big Bang Theory episode of 2011 are out. CBS saw its largest Thursday audience this season, while The Big Bang Theory posted its best ratings since November 4th.
The show was watched by 14.02m people and scored an 8.12/14 rating in households. The episode set a 4.4/13 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic and a 5.7/15 rating in the adults 25-54 demo. The Big Bang Theory finished first in all key metrics.

Jim Parsons & The Big Bang Theory nominated for Golden Globe Awards
Jim Parsons & The Big Bang Theory have both been nominated for awards at the 2010 Golden Globe Awards. The nominations were announced yesterday and the award ceremony will take place Sunday, January 16, 2011.
The Big Bang Theory was nominated for the "Best Television Series - Comedy Or Musical" award. The show goes up against 30 Rock, The Big C, Glee, Modern Family and Nurse Jackie.Jim Parsons was nominated for the "Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Comedy Or Musical" award. Parsons faces competition from Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Steve Carrell (The Office), Thomas Jane (Hung) and Matthew Morrison (Glee).
This is the first Golden Globe nomination for the show and Jim Parsons. Parsons won an Emmy for his work as Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory at this year's Emmy Awards. This is the first nomination for a multi-camera sitcom in the Best Television Show category for six years.

The Big Bang Theory finished first in all key metrics. The show was watched by 13.09m people, slightly up on last week. The episode scored a 4.3/13 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic, up a notch from last week's episode.
Reruns will air for the next two weeks. On November 25th episodes 4.01 & 4.02 air at 8/7c and at the special time of 9/8c, respectively. Episode 4.03 airs at the usual time on December 2nd. The show returns for a new episode on December 9th.
