We are running an episode tournament to find the fans' favorite episode so far of The Big Bang Theory. The second round has just closed and two episodes now go head-to-head in our final round.
The two episodes fighting it out in the final are The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis & The Staircase Implementation. Knocked out in the last round were The Einstein Approximation and The Luminous Fish Effect.

CBS Announces Episode 4.02 August 31, 2010
CBS has announced the details for the second episode of the upcoming season of The Big Bang Theory. The co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, will be making a guest appearance as himself in the episode.
"The Cruciferous Vegetable Amplification" - Sheldon realizes he won't live long enough to download his consciousness into a robot body, and attempts to extend his lifespan, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Sept. 30 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Jim Parsons wins Emmy Award August 29, 2010
Jim Parsons won the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards today in Los Angeles. This was Parsons' second nomination for his work as Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. He was first nominated in 2009 but lost to Alec Baldwin.
Parsons beat out Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Matthew Morrison (Glee), Tony Shalhoub (Monk), Steve Carell (The Office) and Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) in the category.

Katee Sackhoff to guest star again
Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) is going to make another appearance in The Big Bang Theory this season, according to TV Squad. Sackhoff appeared in the show as a figment of Howard's imagination during Season 3 and will reportedly act as Howard's conscience again.
Christine Baranski loses out in guest star Emmy
Christine Baranski lost out to Betty White in the Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award at the Emmys. This was Baranski's second nomination for her work as Beverly Hofstadter on The Big Bang Theory. White won the award for her guest hosting of Saturday Night Live and it was the Golden Girls actress's seventh Emmy award. The Emmy Award ceremony is held this Sunday, August 29th, but certain awards are announced before the event. Baranski is also nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category for her work on CBS's The Good Wife.

Laurie Metcalf to reappear
Laurie Metcalf will be returning as Sheldon's mom this season, according to Fancast's Matt Mitovich. Bill Prady hinted at her reappearance on his Twitter feed. Metcalf has appeared on the show twice before as Mary Cooper, Sheldon's religious Texan mother.

CBS Announces Season 4 Premiere August 23, 2010
CBS has announced the details for the upcoming fourth season premiere of The Big Bang Theory. The show is moving to Thursdays at 8/7c and the season kicks off on September 23rd.
"The Robotic Manipulation" — Penny finds herself along for the ride on Sheldon's first date ever; while Wolowitz finds a new use for a robotic arm, on the season premiere of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Sept. 23 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Mayim Bialik (Blossom) returns as Amy Fowler, Sheldon's potential love interest, in the episode. You can view more information on the episode in our Episode Guide.
'Big Bang' gets bigger in Canada August 23, 2010
The Big Bang Theory is moving to a new day & time and entering strip syndication in Canada, the CTV network has announced. The show will move to Thursdays at 8pm ET on CTV, airing alongside hits such as Grey's Anatomy and The Mentalist. This mirrors the move CBS announced earlier in the year. Episodes of the show will be available to view online in Canada the day after they air at the CTV.ca website.
CTV also announced in a world first that The Big Bang Theory will be entering strip syndication in Canada a full year before the United States. The show will follow Canadian talk show eTalk on Monday-Wednesday & Friday at 7:30 ET on CTV. The strip kicks off Monday, September 13 when they go right back to the pilot episode of The Big Bang Theory. The show will also air on the Comedy Network from Monday, September 20, at 9:30pm ET.
CTV will mark The Big Bang Theory's new Thursday night slot with a five-episode marathon of the show on Thursday, September 16, from 7:30-10pm ET. Remember to check local listings to confirm broadcast times.

The following episodes were knocked out in the last round: The Pancake Batter Anomaly, The Adhesive Duck Deficiency, The Pants Alternative and The Lizard-Spock Expansion.

CBS opens new Thursday slot with a 'Bang' August 17, 2010
CBS will mark The Big Bang Theory's move to Thursdays with a special two-hour marathon of the show a week before the start of the new season. The marathon runs from 8:00-10:00 on Thursday, September 16th and contains the last four episodes of Season 3.
The new season of Big Bang gets underway on September 23rd. The show kicks off a new one-hour comedy block on Thursdays that also includes the show $#*! My Dad Says, starring William Shatner and based on a Twitter feed of the same name. CBS's Thursday night schedule continues with drama from CSI at 9 and The Mentalist at 10.
Mayim Bialik is to return as Sheldon's potential love interest, Amy Fowler, in the fourth season premiere. No other details have yet been revealed about the season opener.

-TCA Award Winners Announced The annual Television Critics Assocation awards took place earlier this month, but The Big Bang Theory proved unsuccessful this time around. While Jim Parsons and the show won awards last year, this year's batch of winners was dominated by the break-out hit Glee.
