A price war has broken out between major online retailers in Britain over the price of the upcoming Season 1 DVD of The Big Bang Theory set to be released in January of next year. When we first announced the release, back at the end of October, Amazon.co.uk were selling the DVD for over £18, nearly £3 above what rival HMV were selling it for, but now Amazon has crunched the price down to £15.98 coming in below the then-best-priced HMV, while Play.com has kept its original price of £16.99. Another site, however, has blown them all out of the water. Zavvi, the new name for Virgin Megastores, is selling the DVD for just £15 - including free delivery.

We usually post a link to buy at Amazon, through which we earn a commission, but as they're not very competitive on this product yet we will not do that. We suggest you visit HMV.com and get the DVD for just £15.99, cheaper than both Play.com & Amazon.co.uk.
Amazon.co.uk has removed a listing for "The Big Bang Theory: Season 1" that suggested the DVD might be released in the United Kingdom.
The listing, added over 2 months ago, appeared shortly after the DVD was announced in the United States & Canada.
No other UK retailer is listing the DVD and Warner Bros Home Entertainment would not comment on whether the show will be released in the U.K.
Amazon.co.uk has posted details of The Big Bang Theory: Season 1 which seems to show that the DVD will be released in the United Kingdom.
It is not certain at this point, some of the details listed there are direct copies of the US release which are probably not going to be true in the UK. The release on a Tuesday is not usual in the UK so September 2nd doesn't look like it will be the release day.
