Guest Star: LeVar Burton
LeVar Burton is an American actor, director, presenter and author who is perhaps best known for his role as Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation and as a young Kunta Kinte in the acclaimed mini-series Roots.
His TV roles also include being the host of the long-running PBS series Reading Rainbow and the role of Professor Paul Haley on the TNT drama series Perception. Burton has also made guest appearances in shows including Trapper John, M.D., The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote and Becker. Burton also appeared in an episode of the 2016 remake of Roots.
Burton lent his voice to the character of Kwame in the cartoon series Captain Planet and the Planeteers and voiced the role of Doc Greene in the Transformers: Rescue Bots TV series. Along side his cameo appearances on The Big Bang Theory, LeVar Burton also appeared as himself in two episodes of the NBC series Community.
As a director, Burton has worked on episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Charmed, JAG and NCIS: New Orleans. He also directed the Disney Channel Original Movie Smart House.
