Peter MacNicol is an American actor perhaps known for his roles on the TV drama series Ally McBeal and Numbers.

MacNicol's other TV credits include roles on Chicago Hope, 24, and guest appearances on shows including Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Veep. He won an Emmy award in 2001 for his role as John Cage on Ally McBeal.

On the big screen, MacNicol is best known for his role in the 1982 film Sophie's Choice along side Meryl Streep. MacNicol's other film credits include Ghostbusters II, Housesitter, Addams Family Values, and Bean.
