'Mamma Mia' star to play Leonard's mother January 17, 2009
Christine Baranski, star of TV's Cybill (created by none other than Big Bang's Chuck Lorre) & last summer's mega-hit movie Mamma Mia!, will be playing Leonard's mother in an upcoming episode of The Big Bang Theory.
Baranski will appear in the 15th episode of this season as Dr. Beverly Hofstadter, a renowned academic.
Executive producer Bill Prady told TVGuide.com earlier this season, "We've often said there's the possibility that Leonard is the least successful in his family, that his parents always pushed him toward academic success." Leonard's father is also a renowned academic.
The buzz is that Leonard's mom echoes Sheldon more than her own son, as exhibited by her own quirks and demeanor.
Viewers' Almanac January 15, 2009
Today we have launched a new feature on the website. A Viewers' Almanac, in the form of a Wiki (eg. Wikipedia), which contains lots of interesting tidbits of information from The Big Bang Theory world that can't be placed on our main site.
The Wiki will run like any other, you'll be able to edit pages and, if you set-up an account, you'll be able to create pages as well. The Wiki is edited by Steve Vander Ark, who has put together the information in the Wiki.
We hope people will edit the Wiki, there are some community guidelines but then it is just like editing any other Wiki. You can put any information relevant to either the "real life" & The Big Bang Theory or the world of The Big Bang Theory. For instance, we have a page on CBS, which is obviously under the "real life" category but is relevant to the show. We have a page on IKEA, which is of the "real life" but also from the show's reality, as we learnt in episode 1.02. We also have a page on Mrs. Wolowitz, which is obviously only of their world. So this is an idea of what the Wiki is for.
We hope you enjoy it. Click here to visit the Wiki.
