Mayim Bialik to star in new sitcom, reuniting with Jim Parsons

Mayim Bialik is set to star in a new multi-camera sitcom, "Carla", which she will executive-produce alongside her former The Big Bang Theory co-star Jim Parsons.

The show is based on the British comedy series "Miranda", which ran from 2009 to 2015 on the BBC and starred comedian Miranda Hart and Lucifer's Tom Ellis.

Bialik will star as Carla, a 39-year-old woman who struggles against society and her mother's expectations to prove you cannot have everything you want and still be happy. Which is why she takes the money her parents set aside for her wedding and opens a cat cafe in Louisville, Kentucky.

Fox has ordered the show, which comes from The Big Bang Theory studio Warner Bros., to series for the 2020/21 season.
