Vernee Watson is an American actress perhaps best known for her recurring roles on Welcome Back, Kotter and on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where she played the mother of Will Smith's character.
Her other TV credits include the '70s sitcom Carter Country, '80s sitcom Foley Square, and a recurring role on the '90s sitcom Sister, Sister. She also provided voices in the late '70s Saturday morning cartoon series Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels and the early '90s comedy series Baby Talk. Vernee Watson has also had roles on TV soap operas The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives.
On The Big Bang Theory, Vernee Watson plays Althea Davis, a character whose various jobs - often as a nurse in different environments - have brought her into contact with the gang. Watson had a similar role on the Chuck Lorre show Two and a Half Men, and has also appeared as a nurse on The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon.
