Episode 5.20 Ratings March 30, 2012
Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory, featuring guest star Leonard Nimoy, was the night's top-rated show in key demographics.
"The Transporter Malfunction" was watched by 13.64 million people, down by 1.4 million viewers on the last original episode. The show ranked second in its timeslot in households and total viewers, ranking behind Fox's American Idol. In the important demographics, The Big Bang Theory finished top with a 5.9/17 rating among adults 25-54, a 3.2/12 rating among adults 18-34 and a 4.5/15 rating among adults 18-49. In the 18-49 demo, the show was down by 12% from March 8. The Big Bang Theory was Thursday's #1 program with adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

CBS Announces Episode 5.21: Stephen Hawking stars March 22, 2012
CBS has announced the April 5 episode of The Big Bang Theory. Eminent theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking guest stars as himself in the episode.
The Hawking Excitation – When Wolowitz gets to work with Stephen Hawking, Sheldon is willing to do anything to meet his hero, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, April 5 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. World-renowned Scientist Stephen Hawking guest stars as himself.

New episodes return to the UK & Ireland March 16, 2012
New episodes of The Big Bang Theory will return to the airwaves in the UK and Ireland later this month. E4 will begin broadcasting the second half of the fifth season on Thursdays at 8pm from March 29th.
The digital station aired the first eleven episodes of the season between November and January. The channel then took a break to allow more episodes to be produced.
The Big Bang Theory: Season 5 will continue Thursdays at 8pm on E4 from March 29th.

CBS has announced the next episode of The Big Bang Theory, which will air Thursday, March 29. Legendary Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy voices Mr. Spock in the episode.
The Transporter Malfunction – Penny buys Leonard and Sheldon “Star Trek” collectibles as a thank-you, leading Sheldon to be haunted by Mr. Spock. Meanwhile, Raj decides he has met the “Future Mrs. Koothrappali” after his parents set him up on a date, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, March 29 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. “Star Trek” legend Leonard Nimoy voices Mr. Spock.

Stephen Hawking films 'Big Bang Theory' cameo March 12, 2012
Professor Stephen Hawking is set to make a cameo appearance in The Big Bang Theory. The famed theoretical physicist recorded a scene last Friday for the April 5 episode of the show. In the episode the eminent professor will have a "run in" with Sheldon.
Bill Prady, co-creator and executive producer of The Big Bang Theory, hinted about the guest spot on Twitter. Last Friday, Prady tweeted "On my way to shoot a scene with a super-secret, super-cool guest star for episode 521." Hawking's appearance will come one week after another high profile guest star, Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy, has a cameo role on the show.
Professor Hawking had reportedly been approached to guest start on the show before, but was too ill to take part. The seventy-year-old cosmologist has previously played himself on The Simpsons and Futurama.
Episode 5.19 Ratings March 9, 2012
Yesterday's episode of The Big Bang Theory beat American Idol in the key demographics and is likely to rank as the night's #1 program among adults 18-49, 25-54 and 18-34.
"The Weekend Vortex" was watched by 15.22 million people, down by over a million from the last original episode, and scored a 9.3/15 rating in households. The Big Bang Theory finished second, behind American Idol, in total viewers and households.
In the important demographics, The Big Bang Theory ranked ahead of the hour-long American Idol broadcast for the second time. Big Bang scored a 6.4/17 rating in the adults 25-54 demo, a 3.6/13 rating in the 18-34 demo and a 5.1/15 rating in the 18-49 demo. If the ratings hold, The Big Bang Theory was the night's highest-rated program in adults 25-54, 18-49 and 18-34.
A special rebroadcast of The Big Bang Theory at 8:30 finished second, behind American Idol, in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. The rerun was watched by 12.87 million people and scored a 4.0/11 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.
