2012 People's Choice Award Nominations November 8, 2011
The nominations for the 2012 People's Choice Awards were announced today, with The Big Bang Theory and its stars Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco receiving nominations. Kaley Cuoco is set to host the awards event, which will air live on CBS on Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
The Big Bang Theory was nominated in the Favorite Network TV Comedy category for the third year running. The show faces competition from Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family and Glee. The Big Bang Theory won the award in 2010.
Jim Parsons was nominated in the Favorite TV Comedy Actor category for the third consecutive time. He goes up against 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin, Glee's Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith, and How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris.
Kaley Cuoco was nominated the Favorite TV Comedy Actress category for the first time. Her competitors are Cougar Town's Courtney Cox, Glee's Jane Lynch and Lea Michele, and 30 Rock's Tina Fey.

Episode 5.08 Ratings: Record Thursday Ratings November 4, 2011
Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory dominated its timeslot, was the highest rated show of the night and broke its previous records in its Thursday night timeslot.
"The Isolation Permutation" was watched by 15.98 million people, up by around 1.4 million people from last week, and attracted the show's largest Thursday night audience ever. Last night's episode was also the show's most watched episode since 3.17 The Precious Fragmentation, which aired Monday, March 8th 2010 in the 9:30 slot following Two and a Half Men.
The show scored a 9.4/15 rating in households, equalling the Thursday high set by the fifth season premiere. In the important adults 18-49 demographic, The Big Bang Theory set another Thursday high with a 5.4/16 rating.

"The Good Guy Fluctuation" was watched by 14.54 million people, down by around 150,000 from last week. In the key adults 18-49 demographic, the show scored a 4.6/13 rating. The Big Bang Theory finished in second place in all key ratings metrics.

Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory finished first in its slot and matched its previous Thursday high in the key adults 18-49 demographic. The Big Bang Theory was the highest rated and most watched show on Thursday for the fifth week running.
"The Rhinitis Revelation", with guest star Laurie Metcalf, was watched by 14.69 million people, the second largest audience the show has had on Thursdays. The show finished first in households with an 8.9/15 rating and scored a 4.9/15 rating in the coveted 18-49 demo, matching its highest Thursday rating in the demographic. Compared to last week, the show was up three tenths of a point in the 18-49 demo and added 1.1 million viewers. The Big Bang Theory finished first in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

Last night's episode with guest stars Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner was the night's number one show in viewers and key demographics. The Big Bang Theory has been the highest rated show of the night every week since its September 22nd return.
"The Russian Rocket Reaction" was watched by 13.26 million people, down by around 370,000 people from last week, and scored an 8.2/14 rating in households. The Big Bang Theory scored a 4.4/14 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic and scored a 5.5/15 rating in the adults 25-54 demo. The show ranked first in its timeslot by all key metrics.
The Big Bang Theory was the highest rated show of the night in households, total viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 for the fourth consequtive week.
A rerun of The Big Bang Theory followed last night's new episode at 8:30, replacing the now-cancelled sitcom How To Be A Gentleman. The rerun of "The Benefactor Factor" also finished first in its slot, beating original episodes of The X Factor, Charlie's Angels and Parks and Recreation. The rerun scored a 7.3/12 in households, 4.7/12 with adults 25-54, a 3.7/10 in adults 18-49 and was watched by 11.99 million people.
