Laura Spencer promoted to a series regular on TBBT Posted October 13, 2015
Laura Spencer, who plays Raj's girlfriend Emily, has been promoted to a series regular on the show. Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory was the first to feature her name in the opening credits.
According to TVLine, Spencer has been made a "fractional series regular", which means she won't appear in every episode, but it guarantees she will be available to the show on an as-needed basis.
The actress has been doing double duty with a recurring stint on the FOX drama series Bones alongside her appearances on The Big Bang Theory.
Emily is Raj's most serious relationship to date. Her character first appeared in the Season 7 episode "The Friendship Turbulence", which was followed by a further four appearances in the seventh season and then six appearances last season.
