CBS announces fall premiere dates Posted June 22, 2016
CBS has announced its fall premiere dates for the 2016/17 season. The Big Bang Theory is set to return for its tenth season on Monday, September 19 at 8/7c. The show will again be starting the season on Mondays night to make room for Thursday Night Football. The Big Bang Theory will return to its regular Thursday night time period from October 27.
For the start of the season, The Big Bang Theory will kick off Monday nights at 8/7c, followed by the new Kevin James sitcom Kevin Can Wait. An array of scheduling oddities mean this Monday night line-up won't be particularly stable. A limited series, Case Closed, airs at 9-11 on the first Monday of the season, September 19. The following week a presidential debate will air between 9 and 11. Drama series Scorpion returns with a two-hour premiere at 9/8c on October 3 before returning to its 10/9c regular time period on October 10. On October 17, which is the last week of The Big Bang Theory's run on Mondays, an hour-long season premiere of 2 Broke Girls will air at 9/8c.
Back on Thursday nights from October 27, The Big Bang Theory at 8/7c will be followed at 8:30 by the new sitcom The Great Indoors, at 9/8c by the fourth season of the Chuck Lorre sitcom Mom, at 9:30/8:30c by the second season of Life in Pieces, and at 10/9c by the new drama series Pure Genius.
