Warner Bros. announces Season 9 DVD and Blu-ray June 9, 2016
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the upcoming release of The Big Bang Theory: Season 9 DVD and Blu-ray boxsets. The three-disc DVD and two-disc Blu-ray boxsets will be released Tuesday, September 13 in the United States and Canada.
The releases will included all twenty-four episodes from the latest season of The Big Bang Theory along with new bonus features: "The Big Bang Theory Gives Back", "BBT: The Big 200", "Love IS Rocket Science", "#Just Ask BBT: If I Had To Go To Mars...", "#Just Ask BBT: Who Will Get The Couch?" featurettes, footage of The Big Bang Theory's 2015 Comic-Con Panel featurettes, and a Gag Reel.
The three-disc DVD set will include English and Portuguese audio tracks along with English, Chinese, Portuguese, Latin Spanish, French, Thai and Korean subtitles. Episodes are presented in 16x9 widescreen with 5.1 audio (English only). For the Blu-ray, the Enlgish 5.1 soundtrack is accompanied by Portuguese and Spanish 2.0 tracks. Subtitles on the Blu-ray are English, French, Castilian Spanish, Latin Spanish, Korean and Portuguese. The two-disc Blu-ray also includes digital HD downloads of the episodes.

United Kingdom and Ireland: The Big Bang Theory: Season 9 will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday, August 29. A Seasons 1-9 DVD boxset will also be released alongside a Seasons 1-9 Blu-ray boxset.

CBS announces its 2016/17 line-up May 19, 2016
Announcing its 2016/17 primetime line-up in New York yesterday, CBS revealed The Big Bang Theory will again start the season on Monday nights with the show's regular time period temporarily filled by Thursday Night Football. The Big Bang Theory will move back to Thursday nights from October 27.
CBS will expand its Monday night comedy block to two-hours with new sitcoms starring Kevin James and Matt LeBlanc. The Big Bang Theory will temporarily air Mondays at 8/7c and will be followed at 8:30/7:30c by Kevin Can Wait, a new comedy with the star of The King of Queens, Kevin James. Returning sitcoms 2 Broke Girls and The Odd Couple will air at 9/8c and 9:30/8:30c, respectively. Drama series Scorpion finishes off the night at 10/9c.
When The Big Bang Theory moves back to Thursday nights, Kevin Can Wait will take the 8/7c slot on Mondays and will be followed by new sitcom Man with a Plan, starring Friends star Matt LeBlanc.
After CBS's run of Thursday Night Football games ends the network's two-hour Thursday night comedy block will return on October 27. The Big Bang Theory will again kick off the night at 8/7c followed by new sitcom The Great Indoors, which stars Joel McHale (Community). Chuck Lorre's Mom retains the 9/8c slot and will be followed by returning sitcom Life in Pieces. New drama series Pure Genius airs at 10/9c.
The Big Bang Theory was renewed for its tenth season as part of a three-season deal struck in 2014. The show has not yet been renewed past this tenth season.

CBS has released the synopsis for the ninth season finale of The Big Bang Theory, "The Convergence-Convergence", which airs next Thursday, May 12. Judd Hirsch (Taxi) guest stars as Alfred, Leonard's father. Christine Baranski and Laurie Metcalf reprise their roles as Dr. Beverly Hofstadter and Mary Cooper, respectively, in the episode.
"The Convergence Convergence" - Chaos ensues when Leonard's recently divorced parents, Alfred (Judd Hirsch) and Beverly (Christine Baranski), and Sheldon's devoutly religious mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), come to town. Also, Wolowitz and Koothrappali think the government is out to get them when they are contacted about their guidance system, on the ninth season finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, May 12 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
The Big Bang Theory has already been renewed for a tenth season on CBS as part of a three-season deal signed back in 2014.
