910 'The Earworm Reverberation' Press Release December 2, 2015

CBS has issued the press release for the next episode of The Big Bang Theory, "The Earworm Reverberation", which airs December 10. Stephen Merchant (The Office [UK]) reprises his role as Dave in the episode.

The Earworm Reverberation - Sheldon has a revelation when he realizes why a song was stuck in his head. Also, Amy invites Dave (Stephen Merchant) over for dinner despite their previously awkward date, and Wolowitz and Koothrappali become obsessed with a fan of their band, "Footprints on the Moon," on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Dec. 10 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.

SPOILERS: Sheldon and Amy's relationship takes a step forward November 18, 2015

Sheldon and Amy will take their relationship to the next level in a December episode, showrunner Steve Molaro confirmed after an episode taping on Tuesday. The pair, whose relationship has been on hold so far this season, will reportedly get intimate in the December 17 episode.

"After over five years of dating, we felt the time was right for Sheldon and Amy to finally consummate their relationship, and we're so excited for the audience to see the journey over the next several episodes", showrunner Steve Molaro said in a statement.

Bob Newhart will reprise his role as Professor Proton/Arthur Jeffries in the episode, appearing to Sheldon as a Jedi just as he did in "The Proton Transmogrification". The Star Wars bent to the episode will come just hours before the new film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, opens in cinemas.

Bob Newhart returning to The Big Bang Theory November 11, 2015

Veteran comedic actor Bob Newhart will reprise his role as Professor Proton/Arthur Jeffries in a December episode of The Big Bang Theory. This will mark the fourth appearance of Bob Newhart, who first guest starred in the sixth season episode "The Proton Recurrence".

Newhart last appeared on The Big Bang Theory in the seventh season episode "The Proton Transmogrification", in which Arthur passed away. On the day of Professor Proton's funeral, which fell on the May 4th - "Star Wars Day", Sheldon had a dream in which Professor Proton returned to him as a Jedi to offer him some sage advice.

Professor Proton's Star Wars-inspired return, which is set to air Thursday, December 17, will come just hours before the much anticipated new film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, opens in theaters.

CBS has released the synopsis for the November 19 episode of The Big Bang Theory, "The Platonic Permutation". Inventor and Tesla CEO Elon Musk makes a cameo appearance as himself in the episode.

The Platonic Permutation - Sheldon and Amy try hanging out as friends when they spend Thanksgiving together at the aquarium. Also, Wolowitz reluctantly agrees to volunteer at the soup kitchen with Bernadette, Raj and Emily, and Penny discovers that Leonard knows more about her than she thought, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Nov. 19 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.
