TBBT garners 5 People's Choice nominations November 5, 2013

The Big Bang Theory received five nominations today at the People's Choice Awards 2014. The show itself got three nominations, while two of its stars were also nominated.

The Big Bang Theory is nominated for the Favorite Network TV Comedy award. The other contenders are 2 Broke Girls, Glee, How I Met Your Mother and Modern Family. This is TBBT's fifth consecutive nomination for the award. The show has won this award twice, including at this year's awards back in January.

Jim Parsons is up for the Favorite Comedic TV Actor award for the firth consecutive time. The other nominees are Chris Colfer (Glee), Darren Criss (Glee), Jesse Tyler Ferugson (Modern Family) and Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother).

Kaley Cuoco was nominated in the Favorite Comedic TV Actress award for the third consecutive time. The other contenders for the award are Jane Lynch (Glee), Lea Michele (Glee), Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly) and Zooey Deschanel (New Girl).

The Big Bang Theory was also nominated in the Favorite TV Bromance category for Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj. The other shows with characters nominated in the bromance category are Glee, Castle, Supernatural and How I Met Your Mother. The Big Bang Theory girls are equally represented in the Favorite TV Gal Pals category. Other nominated gal pals come from 2 Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy and Glee.

The Big Bang Theory: Christmas Episodes DVD November 4, 2013

The Big Bang Theory: Christmas Episodes DVD was released today in the United Kingdom. The Region 2, PAL DVD is playable throughout Europe, and can also be played worldwide with a multi-region DVD player.

The single-disc DVD compilation collects three classic Christmas episodes of The Big Bang Theory: "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis", "The Maternal Congruence" and "The Santa Simulation".

In the fan-favorite "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis", Penny starts dating a handsome colleague of Leonard's, while Raj and Howard help find Sheldon a suitable Christmas gift for Penny.

In "The Maternal Congruence", guest star Christine Baranski returns as Leonard's mother, Beverly. While Sheldon is delighted by Beverly's impromtu visit, his mother's prescence adds to the holiday stress for Leonard.

In "The Santa Simulation", Sheldon is haunted by memories of Christmas past during a festive game of Dungeons and Dragons, while Raj joins the girls for ladies' night.

7.08 'The Itchy Brain Simulation' Press Release October 31, 2013

CBS has issued the press release for the November 14 episode of The Big Bang Theory. Kate Micucci, who recently co-wrote the song "If I Didn't Have You (Bernadette's Song)" with her Garfunkel and Oates partner Riki Lindhome, reprises her role as Lucy, Raj's ex-girlfriend, in this episode.

The Itchy Brain Simulation – Leonard tries to keep Sheldon from overreacting when a past mistake comes to light, but Sheldon punishes Leonard by making him walk a mile in his shoes. Meanwhile, Penny confronts Raj’s ex-girlfriend, Lucy, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Nov. 14 (8:00 – 8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

7.06 'The Romance Resonance' Ratings October 25, 2013

Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory dominated its time slot and the night as a whole, even with tougher competition with the World Series on Fox.

"The Romance Resonance" episode, which included a special musical number, had an audience of 16.98 million people, down by 820,000 from last week. The small drop in viewers week-to-week was perhaps the only yielding to Fox's tougher competition. In the important adults 18-49 demographic, The Big Bang Theory's rating was a dominant 5.2/16, basically unchanged from last week.

The Big Bang Theory was again the highest-rated and most-watched show in its time slot and all of Thursday night.

7.07 'The Proton Displacement': Bob Newhart, Bill Nye guest October 25, 2013

CBS has isused the press release for the next episode of The Big Bang Theory, set to air Thursday, November 7. Comedy legend Bob Newhart reprises his role as Professor Proton, Sheldon and Leonard's favorite TV science show host as children. Bill Nye, the Science Guy, guest stars as himself in this episode.

The Proton Displacement – Sheldon feels slighted when Professor Proton seeks advice from Leonard instead of him, and he seeks revenge by befriending a rival science TV host, Bill Nye. Meanwhile, Raj gets jealous when Howard crashes "girls' night", on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Nov. 7 (8:00 – 8:31 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

With The Big Bang Theory still temping on Mondays at 9/8c next week, there's another chance to catch The 43 Peculiarity. Next Thursday, October 31, a rerun of The Bakersfield Expedition will air in the show's usual 8/7c time slot, followed by a special rebroadcast of The Tenure Turbulence at 9:30/8:30c.

If I Didn't Have You (Bernadette's Song) October 25, 2013

Howard's romantic song for Bernadette from last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory can now be bought for download from iTunes and Amazon.com in the United States. The song has been released in support of the charity MusiCares. The song is not yet available to download internationally.

In the episode "The Romance Resonance", Howard planned a romantic gesture for Bernadette to celebrate the anniversary of his first date with her. The plan was almost scuppered when Bernadette ended up in quarantine, but Howard and the rest of the gang still managed to perform the song for her. Watch the performance again below:

The new and original song, entitled "If I Didn't Have You (Bernadette's Song)", was written by comedian singer-songwriters Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome. Both have appeared on The Big Bang Theory with Micucci playing the recurring role of Lucy, Raj's shy ex-girlfriend, and Lindhome appearing in the second season as Ramona Nowitzki, a grad student who becomes infatuated with Sheldon. The pair make up the comedy folk duo of Garfunkel and Oates. Kate Mucucci is scheduled to reprise her role as Lucy an episode of The Big Bang Theory next month.
