2010 Emmy Nominations Posted July 8, 2010
The 2010 Emmy nominations were announced today. Jim Parsons is nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series again. He goes up against Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Matthew Morrison (Glee), Tony Shalhoub (Monk), Steve Carell (The Office) and Alec Baldwin (30 Rock). Jim Parsons was nominated for the award last year but lost to Alec Baldwin.
The show did not get nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series and no other Big Bang Theory star was nominated. The show did pick up nominations for Outstanding Art Direction for a Multi-Camera Series, Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series or Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control for a Series.
Christine Baranski was also nominated for her guest role as Leonard's mother, Beverly Hofstadter, in The Maternal Congruence. She was nominated at last year's awards for first appearance in the role but lost to Tina Fey. It wasn't her only nomination today; she also picked up a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for CBS's The Good Wife.
