"The Holographic Excitation" was watched by 15.82 million people, adding 900,000 people from last week. In the important adults 18-49 demographic, The Big Bang Theory scored a 5.0/15 rating, up two notches from last week's 4.8/15. The show ranked first in total viewers, households, adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34 in its time slot and the night as a whole.
