E4 picks up rights to Young Sheldon in the U.K. September 26, 2017
E4 has picked up the rights to air The Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon in the United Kingdom and will broadcast the show starting next year.
The British digital channel has had the rights to The Big Bang Theory since 2007 and has made the show a key part of its line-up. The Big Bang Theory's recent tenth season attracted 2.4 million viewers an episode on E4, making it the network's biggest show of the year.
Young Sheldon, which aired its special debut last night on CBS, follows the life of Sheldon Cooper growing up in East Texas and starting high school at the age of nine. The show stars Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan and Raegan Revord. Young Sheldon was created by The Big Bang Theory's co-creator Chuck Lorre and executive producer Steven Molaro, who produce the show with Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak. Jon Favreau (Iron Man) directed the pilot episode.
E4 is expected to begin showing The Big Bang Theory's eleventh season, which premiered yesterday in the United States, later this year.

Young Sheldon is of course the new sitcom from The Big Bang Theory producers Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro which follows Sheldon growing up as a boy genius in East Texas in 1989. Sheldon is starting high school at the age of nine and must deal with an environment that does not always reward his intelligence. Unlike The Big Bang Theory, which is a multi-camera comedy filmed in front of an audience, Young Sheldon is a single-camera show like The Wonder Years or Malcolm in the Middle.
Young Sheldon stars Iain Armitage (Big Little Lies) as Sheldon, Laurie Metcalf's real life daughter, Zoe Perry, as Mary Cooper, Lance Barber as George Sr., Montana Jordan as George Jr. and Raegan Revord as Missy. Annie Potts (Designing Women, Ghostbusters) has joined the cast as Meemaw.
Young Sheldon will be narrated by Jim Parsons as adult Sheldon. Iron Man and The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau directed the pilot episode. Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Jim Parsons, Todd Spiewak and Jon Favreau are executive producers on the show.

Young Sheldon will air its series debut on Monday, September 25 at 8:30/7:30c right after the eleventh season premiere of The Big Bang Theory. Young Sheldon will then return on Thursday, November 2 when The Big Bang Theory moves back to Thursday nights.
The Big Bang Theory: Season 10 released on DVD and Blu-ray September 12, 2017
The Big Bang Theory: Season 10 is out today on DVD and Blu-ray in the United States and Canada. The box-sets were released on Monday in the United Kingdom and Ireland, while fans in Australia and New Zealand will have to wait just a little long until the release date on Wednesday, September 13.
The three-disc DVD and two-disc Blu-ray sets contain all twenty-four episodes from the latest season of The Big Bang Theory, plus new bonus features. The Blu-ray set also includes digital downloads of the episodes.
The bonus features are five new featurettes: "#JustAskBBT", "Mad Props", "The Ever-Expanding Universe of The Big Bang Theory", "Who's the Baby Now?" and "Best of The Big Bang Theory: 2016 Comic-Con Panel"; along with a new gag reel.

The Big Bang Theory Episode Tournament: Result August 25, 2017
The final round of our tournament to find the fans' favorite episode of The Big Bang Theory has now closed. The winning episode was "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency", in which Sheldon goes to the aid of an injured Penny as the other guys spend a night in the desert.
"The Adhesive Duck Deficiency" narrowly beat out "The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis" in the final round of the tournament with 50.3% of the vote and a lead of just seven votes.
In "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency", Leonard, Howard and Raj head out to the desert to watch a meteor shower, but their evening takes a turn when they enjoy cookies from a pair of hippies. Meanwhile, Sheldon's plan to spend the evening finishing a scientific paper go off course when Penny is injured in the shower. Sheldon comes to the aid of the damsel in distress, getting her dressed, taking her to the emergency room and putting her to bed.

In the second round, The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis beat The Panty Pinata Polarization with 71% of the vote, The Adhesive Duck Deficiency was victorious against The Earworm Reverberation with 53%, The Opening Night Excitation defeated The Prom Equivalency with 72%, while The Long Distance Dissonance edged out The Scavenger Vortex with 52%.
